Colton Holmes is a 2025 C/3B, OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Gurnee, IL who attends Warren Township. He has a good frame with an athletic build and a high waist. Ran the 40-Yard Dash in 5.19 seconds. Primary catcher that receives the ball from one knee. He does a nice job of working towards second base on his throws. He has a high effort delivery on his throws and showed the ability to transfer the ball quickly. Working off of his backside consistently will help him in keeping the ball on the base with his impressive 2.08 second pop time. Secondary outfielder that stays back on the ball and works himself into a good hop. He has clean actions to, and through, the baseball. He throws with a short arm action and gets rid of the ball quickly and accurately. Right-handed hitter that starts in an even base with a high back elbow. He uses a leg lift trigger for timing and stays short to the baseball with his barrel. He has an all fields approach and showed the ability to generate backspin on his line drives. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 Iowa Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
