Chaz Templeton is a 2027 C/RHP/UT with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends Braden River. Features a medium-sized build with quality athleticism. Ran a 7.17 60-yard dash. In the OF, showed strong/fundamental actions. Avg. footspeed/quickness but maintains momentum to and through reception. Glove works down on-time and fields everything clean/out-front. Quick exchange and works to a compact arm action that got off accurate and downhill throws to the bag with avg. strength for his level. Behind the plate, operates from a lower/athletic side saddle. Works quick out the crouch but doesn't gain much ground. Quick/compact exchange at the upper chest. Slight pause in the arm action before working to release where throws were mostly accurate to the bag. At the plate, he stands in a relaxed/open stance with bat rested to the shoulder. Uses a smaller/simple leg lift trigger that syncs with the barrel loading up. Path is longer into entry with some loft into contact. Balanced throughout the swing, exhibiting avg. bat/hand speed. Some inconsistent timing caused some opposite field slice but when on-time it was LDs through the middle of the field. Found a rhythm with his swing during gameplay where he found multiple barrels, spreading them to all fields. On the mound, he operates exclusively from the stretch, using a smaller lift. Shows good depth/drop in the lower-half allowing him to create length down the mound where he lands on-line. Arm works shorter through the back and up to a higher 3/4 slot. Ran the FB up to 81, where it exhibited good run/sink action and threw it for consistent strikes. Mixed in a 11-5 CB in the low 70s showing feel to land (gloveside) with solid depth. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.
