2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (28-29 Grads)
Ryan Gaines is a 2028 RHP/OF with a 6-4 175 lb. frame from Haymarket, VA who attends Highland School. Long and lean high waisted build, very projectable physically. Has a loose and fast arm action with a deep takeaway and low 3/4's arm slot, pretty short stride out front. Fastball topped out at 89 mph with easy carry through the zone and late sink and run. Curveball had tight spin and late biting action. Showed the ability to sequence and locate with both pitches. Has a high ceiling on the mound with physical development. 7.45 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder on defense, showed his arm strength well with developing fundamentals. Left handed hitter, set up in an upright and slightly open stance with a low hand load and short stride into contact, had a short and compact swing for his size, stayed inside the ball and repeated his timing, pull side to mid field contact. Named to the PG High School All-State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
