2024 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Blake Guarnieri is a 2024 C/3B, OF, UT with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from St. Petersburg, FL who attends Clearwater Cntrl Cath. Medium, athletic build with present strength in the frame. Good runner, ran a 6.78 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter, medium and even base with a high back elbow in the stance, hanging leg lift trigger gets the operation started, gets the barrel out front and impacts to all fields. Comes off the barrel easily, compact swing with easy bat speed. Primary catcher, lower side saddled setup, stands up out of the crouch, compact arm action to a high three-quarters release point. Quick exchanges, developing arm strength shown in the round, accurate throws around the bag recorded up to 72 mph and a pop-time of 2.02. Secondary third baseman, has solid range and fluidity to the lower half movements, deep two hand funnel, mid body exchange and gets the ball out of the glove quickly. Same arm strength shown as behind the plate, recorded throws up to 80 mph. Good fundamentals and projects well at third base. Tremendous student. Named to 2024 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
