Mason Smith is a 2025 SS/2B, 3B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Pittsburgh, PA who attends North Allegheny. Medium, athletic build with physical upside. Primary shortstop, demonstrated clean footwork while taking proper angles to the baseball. Funnels it smoothly with the ability to cover ground and adjust. Good carry and accuracy on the throws across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 86 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow, crouched stance with a low back elbow and low & tight hands. Utilizes a negative toe-tap trigger for timing prior to working into a slightly uphill stroke. Gets extended at times, creating length in the bat path. Produced consistent contact to the middle of the field when timed up. Has some power potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 86 mph. Ran a 6.78 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student.
