Clayton Morell is a 2015 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-2 150 lb. frame from Boynton Beach, FL who attends The King's Academy. Slender young build, especially in the upper half, lots of room to get stronger. High energy delivery with an extended 3/4's arm slot, medium length arm action with good arm speed. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, gets on hitters quickly, mostly straight with occasional arm side running life, threw strikes with fastball and showed he could work to both sides of the plate with the pitch. Secondary pitches very much in the developmental stages, flashed good depth on a sweeping curveball but was not consistent with his release point or command, slowed everything on his change up. Has a power pitcher's mentality and actions, might want to learn a hard slider in the future. Good student.
