Brian Perez is a 2017 3B/RHP with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Doral Academy Charter. Medium-large frame, strong-bodied, sturdy build. Primary third baseman, shows solid actions in the infield. Fields the ball out in front, moves well on feet and shows some quickness, agility. Compact arm-action, ball comes out really easy and clean, up to 84 mph across the diamond in workouts. Right handed hitter, slightly open stance with wide base. Hand drop trigger, shows solid bat speed. Flashes strength off of the barrel when squared up, works best when extended and able to pull the baseball. Hit the ball well in game-action and also showed off a patient approach. Also pitched, high leg lift delivery with load on backside. Works through well to a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball up to 86 mph, comes out of hand well and can jump on hitters. Also flashed a curveball with 11/5 shape and good depth. Projects well at plate and on mound. Good student.
