Matt Rinaldi is a 2023 SS with a 5-6 120 lb. frame from Wynnewood, PA who attends Lower Merion. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable frame, has room to grow and fill out physically moving forward. Ran a 7.43 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, takes long strides moving towards the ball and shows a clean funnel and gather behind the ball, fields it out front, extra steps moving through it and can quicken release, tight arm action through release, shows accuracy on throws and athleticism with quick steps on the charge. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide and open stance with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; upper body dominant swing and can incorporate a weight shift through lower half. Contact oriented approach, stays short to the ball and shows timing at the plate. Linear path through the zone, can get extended better out front, projects with strength. Good student.
