Christian Aiello is a 2021 LHP/1B with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Hewitt, NJ who attends West Milford. Medium, square shouldered frame with a high waist and long limbs, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 5.55 40-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, shows nice tempo throughout delivery, high leg lift up past belt and gets tall on backside; full arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Strides on line towards the plate, showed ability to work to either side of the plate with fastball, topped out at 75 mph, low effort and filled the zone. Forced contact early in the count and mixed in a 1-7 shaped curveball up to 61 mph with depth. Glove plays well in the outfield and at first base, clean transfers on throws and shows accuracy to the intended base, moves through the ball well in the outfield. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread and open stance in the box with a high hand set and back elbow; upper body dominant swing and can continue to implement additional lower half into load. Linear to downward swing path through the zone, contact oriented approach, worked the middle and pull side parts of the field, occasional lift at point of contact. Very good student.
