Jake Lynch is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Wheaton, IL who attends Wheaton North. Primary left-handed pitcher with a long and athletic build. Works from the windup with a small side step into a leg lift slightly above the belt. Has good linear direction toward the plate at foot strike. Has a medium, hooked arm action in the back before getting into an extended three-quarters arm slot at release. Developing command of the fastball at 74-to-79 miles per hour. Shows some feel for a loose spinning curveball with 11-to-5 shape. Mixes speeds well, landing the curveball for strikes to keep hitters off balance. Secondary outfielder, works behind the ball with a quick transfer and high effort release. Developing arm strength at 82 miles per hour, getting good backspin and carry on accurate throws to the bases. Upright, even stance from the left side of the plate. High back elbow with a leg lift trigger. Line drive barrel plane to swing, working to the opposite field when making hard contact. Shows a good first step in game action with a stolen base.
