Sam Winsett is a 2024 SS/IF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Voorhees, NJ who attends Eastern. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows solid footwork on the approach, hands play out front and shows a quick transfer, repeats actions well and makes the plays, sound arm strength and carry across, projects well. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even and spread stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Looseness to swing and gets it out front at point of contact; bat speed projects with added physical strength, full swing path through the zone and repeats, shows carry to pull side when squared.
