James Carter is a 2024 1B/3B, OF with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Boulder, CO who attends IMG Academy. A bigger frame & build with strength showing within the frame. Ran a 1.54 10-yard split and 6.98 60-yard dash. Primary corner-infielder who worked out at shortstop. Waits back on the ball with a longer arm stroke through his release. Threw 85 mph across the diamond. Moved fine up the middle, getting himself into position to make the throw across on target and accurate. A left-handed hitter who had a physical presence in the batters' box. Sets up with a wider base, and the hands set high. Hands drift back as he loads. Uses a quick and minimal stride forward. Gets the foot down and rotates hard through the zone. Had some bat speed to get the barrel to it out front. Had some serious juice with strength showing off the barrel. Put together a round of good impacts during BP. Produced a 93 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Excellent student. Named to 2023 Sunshine East TP List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
