Grant Scholzen is a 2023 2B/3B with a 5-4 115 lb. frame from Hurricane, UT who attends Hurricane. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean and a projectable build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary second baseman, takes long strides moving towards the ball, fields it out front with athleticism to actions, extra step moving into release with an extended slot on throws, can drop slot with comfort to complete play, arm strength will continue to develop. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; occasionally gets mistimed through load but shows a handle for the barrel. Quick hands in swing with a linear path through the zone, worked the middle and pull side parts with comfort. Contact oriented approach, repeats mechanics and stays on the ball well, projects well with added strength.
