EJ Burns is a 2024 SS/RHP, MIF, UT with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Coral Springs, FL who attends J. P. Taravella. Medium and athletic frame. Ran a 7.08 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with lots of athleticism to his actions, moves well to and through the baseball, hands play and can throw on the run, showed accuracy from multiple arm angles, actions in the infield project very well, up to 83 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, online delivery that starts with a belt high leg lift, uses drop and drive action with a loose arm action up to a 3/4 arm slot at release, has arm speed that projects well, fastball topped out at 84 mph with a pair of solid breaking balls. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a short leg lift and high hand set, simple load with a small stride into contact, stays direct with hands and has accurate barrel, high finish with plenty of line drive contact. Great student.
