Mason Sike is a 2022 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from McKees Rocks, PA who attends Montour. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, high leg lift up past belt, gets tall on backside with slight hip turn at top; short and quick arm action through the back and creates extension out front with an over-the-top release point. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, creates some cut action to it and ball comes out well, lands online coming down the mound, maintained velocity throughout. Showed comfort for curveball, replicates release and arm speed, up to 71 mph and flashes hard bite to it. Arm strength played both in the outfield and at first base; effort at release with athleticism to action, good carry with simple footwork at first, upper body dominant release from outfield and projects with added lower half. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even and narrow stance, medium hand set, utilizes a long stride moving into contact and creates extension out front in swing. Works on a linear swing path, shows carry to pull side and incorporates physical strength well. Has tools to project upon moving forward on both sides. Very good student. Named to Fall Connecticut Top Prospect List.
