2023 Sunshine West Showcase
Macen Collura is a 2026 SS/RHP/IF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Bishop Gorman. High waisted athletic build with lots room to get stronger. 7.02 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, gets his glove down early but will reach at times, charges the ball well and maintains his balance, has arm speed from a compact arm stroke and very good carry for his age, chance to outgrow the middle of the field. Also played the outfield and showed the same type of athletic actions and big arm strength there. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow bent knee stance with a low and busy hand load, limited flow into his swing, creates lots of raw bat speed but needs to work on his timer and consistency. Also pitched and is a two-way prospect. Has a sound delivery with a 3/4's arm action, did a very good job repeating his mechanics and throwing strikes. Fastball topped out at 87 mph but may have been his third best pitch. Threw an outstanding change up with excellent fading action to go with a high spin rate sharp slider. Has all the pitches and the command to continue to blossom on the mound. Good student. Named to the Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List.
