2025 PG Deep South High School All-State Games (Invite Only)
John Berry Upton is a 2027 SS/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Auburn, AL who attends Auburn. Athletic build with good present strength. 6.79 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has easy athletic side to side action, soft hands fielding the ball, clean arm stroke with good carry on his throws, played under control with good timing and balance, middle of the field athleticism. Also worked out in the outfield, is plenty athletic enough there but more polished and natural in the middle infield. Switch-hitter at the plate, sets up slightly open with a hanging leg raise timer from both sides, right handed swing is simple and consistent with pull side line drive contact and solid strength. Left handed swing was more aggressive with some violence, lots of raw bat speed but less consistency. Good student with a verbal commitment to Jacksonville State. Named to the PG Deep South HS All-State Games Top Prospect List.
