Clayton Speck is a 2026 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 174 lb. frame from Germantown, TN who attends Briarcrest Christian. Medium athletic build with some present strength and more to come. 7.12 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, plays light on his feet and has solid foot work and fundamentals, clean glove work with a quick transition into his throws, smooth overall actions, has some arm strength that will continue to improve, has the tools and skills to stay in the middle of the field as he matures. Right handed hitter, hits from an open balanced stance with a high hand start and a barrel tilt load that creates some length, long and extended swing that creates some lift out front, plenty of upper body rotation, more power over hit at present. Also pitched, starts with a leg tuck over the rubber with a medium length arm takeaway to a high 3/4's arm slot, repeats his mechanics well. Primary fastball pitcher who topped out at 80 mph with lots of sinking action that created plenty of ground ball contact. Mixed in a couple of soft slider. Good student.
