Gavin Ruvalcaba is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends American Heritage Plantation. Long and lean athletic build with some present strength and more to come. 6.83 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, accelerates through the ball and into his transitions, has a long and loose arm action with good carry on his throws and more to come, right field projection. Left handed hitter, hits from an upright stance with a knee lift trigger, has a loose and well connected swing, meets the ball consistently out front with lots of jump off the barrel, calm and fluid hitting mechanics with feel for the barrel. Also pitched, has a slow paced and well controlled delivery with a full arm swing and a loose low 3/4's arm action/slot. Challenged hitters in the zone with a solid three-pitch mix, fastball topped out at 88 mph with some arm side life, threw a sweeping slurve type breaking ball as his chief secondary pitch, also mixed in a promising change up. Has some potential on the mound but his bat is his primary tool. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
