Matthew Gonzalez is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Doral Academy Charter. Medium build with good present strength. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread stance with a high hand load, simple and repeatable swing mechanics, has present bat speed and the ability to create carry to the gaps, best when not trying to pull the ball, projectable hitting tools, lived on the barrel during the games. 7.31 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, throws from an over the top arm slot and gets on top of his throws well with some carry, still developing his foot and glove work moving into the ball. Also pitched, worked from the stretch with medium leg raise over the rubber and an over the top arm slot. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with some tailing action, also threw a short cutter. Good student. Named to the PG Miami Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
