2025 PG Atlantic Coast High School All-State Games (Invite Only)
Kayden Castillo is a 2027 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Thompsons Station, TN who attends Independence. Larger frame with good strength potential. Works from a short side step/leg raise delivery with a short on-line stride out front, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot. Fastball was in the mid-70's and topped out at 77 mph, mostly straight with occasional running life, worked his fastball low in the zone with good angle and got lots of ground ball contact. Curveball showed good feel and some 11/5 sharpness that created swing and miss. Also flashed a firm change up with potential. Right handed hitter, sets up in a medium stance with a tight hand load and a big leg raise trigger, longer line drive swing plane, has some strength at contact when he can get the barrel out front and extended, best contact to the middle of the field. 7.46 runner in the sixty. Secondary third baseman on defense, has some first step quickness and a quick release on his throws, makes accurate throws, playable overall defensive actions. Also worked out in the outfield.
