Benjamin Edwards is a 2026 OF/LHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Cornelius, NC who attends Hough. Slender young build with plenty of room to get stronger. 7.06 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, moves well to the ball and takes good routes, long and loose arm action, makes low on line accurate throws, has good athletic rhythm in his actions. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread and slightly open stance with a high hand load and a short stride into contact, gets into his back hip well, mostly pull side contact, pretty fluid swing that will continue to improve with additional strength. Also took a turn on the mound, works from a full wind up, gathers over the rubber very well, deep arm takeaway to a high 3/4's arm slot, arm gets off time occasionally. Fastball was in the mid-70's with some cutting action, also threw a slurve type breaking ball that had some spin but needs more power. Good athlete who will keep improving in proportion to how much stronger he can get. Good student.
