Gavin Young is a 2027 RHP/2B/3B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Webster Groves, MO who attends Webster Groves. Medium lean build. Works exclusively from the stretch with good lower half use to the plate, compact arm action from a high 3/4's arm slot, has some arm speed to develop. Fastball sat in the low 80's and topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side run. Mid-60's curveball had good depth when he got out front with it. Developing change up. 7.59 runner in the sixty who plays the infield when not on the mound, has some hand quickness fielding the ball, works directly to the ball, tends to throw uphill. Right handed hitter, hits from a medium slightly closed stance with a long stride into contact, swings hard and has some young bat speed, drove the ball well gap to gap when he was timed. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
