Joseph Chvasta is a 2026 RHP/C/1B with a 5-6 140 lb. frame from Elmwood Park, NJ who attends St. Mary's. Young, athletic build with loads of physical projection remaining to be added throughout his frame. Primary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch with a slight below-the-belt leg lift. Remains online to the plate, hiding the ball well as he creates some deception against hitters. Full arm swing coming from a 3/4 arm slot. Gets into his backside well. Some life in his arm, 67-70 mph with more velocity to come as he adds muscle to his frame. Some life to his fastball as he created slight arm-side run through the zone. Displayed strong feel for breaking ball that showcased horizontal tilt and depth. Secondary catcher, low, side saddle set up. Pretty accurate throws to the bag as he recorded a best pop time of 2.38-seconds. Improvement needed to footwork getting out his crouch. Developing arm strength, up to 66 mph on his throws. Also took defensive reps at first base, fields out in front with a deep fielding funnel. Decent actions around the bag with improvements to his footwork needed. Accurate throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, sets up with a narrow, even stance, and a high-hand set. Compact stroke that flashed some line-drive tendencies to the middle-of-the-field as he displayed some feel for the barrel. Rotational lower half with some pop to the pull side. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
