Nathan Barr is a 2024 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 205 lb. frame from Moon Township, PA who attends Moon. Large, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout build. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, works through the ball well, lots of accuracy on throws to the intended base, shorter arm action with present strength to the intended target, shows carry and moves well on feet. Also worked out in the infield, double tap moving into release, shows firmness on throws across diamond and keeps the ball low, can quicken release moving forward, comfort to drop slot as needed, shorter steps on the charge. Also pitched, hybrid windup on the mound, starts slightly closed off towards third base; employs a higher leg lift, incorporates lower half into drive down mound and gets to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 79 mph but played up and got on hitters with short running life and ability to spot to corners. Showed a changeup up to 70 mph with solid tumbling life and pronates it well at release. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread and slighlty open stance, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate and utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Occasionally mistimed with front foot but shows strength in hands, can continue to shift additional weight through lower half. Best contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field, ball jumps when on plane and squared up. Very good student.
