KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Morning Session
Ellyse Hydock is a 6'0, class of 2025 RHP/1B, 3B from Greeley, CO who attends Greeley West HS. Ellyse is a noticeably gifted two-way prospect who shows promise in the circle, on the dirt, and at the plate. A primary RHP, Ellyse is a tall and powerful presence. She has unquestioned ability. Her three pitch mix is college ready right now and she is only a HS freshman. She has a quick and sound arm action that is enhanced by a powerfully strong lower half that she knows how to use. She repeats her operation well. Her big, "go to" pitch, is a heavy, biting drop ball that she can work to both sides of the plate with ease. The DR shows advanced late action with big late sink at the dish. Elite pitch. Her rise is a great compliment to her drop. The rise shows short, late, jump that will miss barrels and should work well with her DR. Her change is a sound third pitch that comes out of the hand with the same action as her drop. Highly deceptive swing and miss pitch. Unlimited ceiling for this gifted young hurler. Ellyse also took a turn at 1B and showed a sound fundamental game. She shows competent footwork and a consistent glove. She transitions well and her 51-mph throws are routinely accurate. At the dish, this RHH shines. Even though she may not be asked to bunt much, she shows a fine feel for the short game. She has an advanced approach to hitting. She starts with a wider base and is quiet, smooth, and quick to contact. She gets the barrel to and through the hitting zone with force. Her timing is outstanding. She shows easy and routine pop and has an emerging power that should only improve over the next few years. Ellyse has unlimited upside potential. Her future will be dictated by her drive and desire to improve. Her obvious positive attitude and body language says that will certainly happen. Big potential for this very talented player!
