Lochlan Key is a 2026 OF/RHP/UT with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Burleson, TX who attends Burleson. Slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. Primary outfielder who moves well to the ball with good athleticism. Takes a quick first step and gets to the ball fast with proper angles. Fields it out front with a one hand gather and gets through it with momentum with some quick shuffles into throws. Gets it out with a quick transfer and release with low liner accurate throws. Should continue to develop arm strength. Also played infield and showed good lateral range moving to his left and right. Uses a 2 hand gather and funnel working up the middle and works around it a bit. Was accurate with his throws as well. Also pitched throwing from a high 3/4 slot. Works from the full arm swing through the back. Fastball worked up to 78 and was located well around the edges of the zone. Flashed a curve as well but will need to be more consistent getting on top of it. Showed much better feel for the change that comes out easy and sells it. Right-handed hitter with a narrow upright base. Uses a small stride into contact for timing and rhythm. Tends to get the foot down late at times and will need to be more consistent getting it down sooner. Showed a level swing path with good bat speed and feel for the barrel. Middle of the field approach contact hitter with impact that way. Hit tool should be the main carrying tool in the box. Good Student.
