2024 Ohio Valley Workout Showcase (Wed.)
CJ Gilpin is a 2027 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Loveland, OH who attends Archbishop Moeller. Big and sturdy frame. Primary third baseman, had a clean round of IF and made all the plays. Gets into good fielding positions and hands were soft, has limited lateral range at present. Also worked out at 1B, might be the best position for him given the current tools. Can make all the plays and has some feel for the glove. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a short arm action, lands in line with the plate but tends to open the hips too early at times. Was around the zone with his fastball, also flashed a changeup with some fade and a curveball with short break. Right-handed hitter with an upright stance and open base, has a high hand set. Has a passive swing with a downhill bat path. Tends to throw his hands, can work on staying more connected through the swing. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
