2022 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Isaiah Palanca is a 2024 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Crown Point, IN who attends Home School. Lean athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. 7.12 runner in the sixty. Primary middle infielder on defense, has good fundamentals in his footwork and glove positioning, moves his feet well and shows good range, has smooth transfers and makes accurate throws, raw arm strength still developing and might be better suited for second base but will be solid there. Right handed hitter, hits from a crouched stance that can leave him leaning over the plate, loads to his back side and tends to stay there, showed some barrel control and accuracy and moved the ball around the field. Also took a turn on the mound, has a long and loose arm action and a low 3/4's arm slot that provides some deception. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with some running life that made him effective inside to right handed hitters, also mixed in an occasional change up. Excellent student.
