2024 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Max McCawley is a 2027 RHP/1B with a 6-2 205 lb. durable frame from Fort Lauderdale, FL who attends Pine Crest HS. Started off the event clocking a 8.27 60-yard dash. A primary pitcher, secondary first baseman. On the mound McCawley shows a repeatable delivery out of a 3/4 arm slot. Shows some body lean to let his arm come through, repeated his mechanics well and showed athleticism down the mound with a short arm stroke. Fastball topped out at 79 mph and is aggressive challenging hitters early in counts with his fastball. Showed some feel for his curveball with a high spin rate (2500+). Best spin and break was at the higher velocities when he maintained arm speed. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow, upright stance, simple base swing mechanics, swung the bat very well in game and shows over the fence power potential. Defensively he made all the required plays and showed he had confidence picking it up and making clean, accurate feeds. Excellent student

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
