Jose Fernandez is a 2023 C/SS with a 5-11 161 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Agua Fria. Medium, compact frame with some strength in his lower half and some room to to physically mature. Recorded a 7.86 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that receives from a wider, side-saddled stance with active hands and a fairly quick mid-line transfer. Gains ground towards his target with step-and-replace footwork out of the crouch. Recorded accurate throws up to 76 mph from behind the dish during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even based stance with a tight hand set, high back elbow and hanging leg lift trigger. Pullside approach with rotational swing mechanics and rounder swing path. Stayed loose with his hands throughout, exhibits some impact to the middle and pullside when in-sync, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
