Gavin McElroy is a 2027 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Nicholls, GA who attends Coffee County. Features a medium-sized lean build with room/time to add strength. Ran a 7.23 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed light feet that maintain speed/momentum through the ball. Operates low to the ground where he displays his glove early for a clean out front reception. Couple extra steps/shuffles and glove taps before working into throws. Medium arm path that got off throws with above avg. strength for his level with accuracy. At SS, showed feel for the positional. Fields each GB in rhythm working into posture early while steal moving to and through the baseball with soft/sure hands. Clean funnel and exchange and got off accurate throws across with his shorter arm action. At the plate, sits in an even base with tighter set hands. Small hover leg lift trigger. Hands dominant swing where the barrel works short/quick to the baseball but cuts out of the zone quickly. Minimal barrel feel and adjustability. A lot of soft contact the other way during his batting practice. On the mound, he side steps into a mid-chest knee lift. Works more tall/fall down the mound and lands on-line. Medium arm path out the back and up to an over the top slot. Ran the FB up into the mid 80s where it had some downhill plane. Was confident in landing his low 70s breaker for strikes that flashed solid spin traits. Also flashed a developing mid 70s changeup he kills good spin on. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
