Porter Nelson is a 2027 RHP/3B, SS, MIF, UT with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Opp, AL who attends Opp. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, has good size with some wiry strength and will continue to fill out. Old school windup over the head with the hands. Pretty clean overall delivery and well paced. Comes from a higher 3/4 slot and gets on top. Up to 79 mph with the fastball with slight cut. Also has solid breaker with downer shape and depth at 67 mph. Filled up the zone with this two-pitch mix. Worked out in the infield as well. Overall corner actions with a quick release throwing across his body. Uses a shorter arm stroke across while delivering throws up to 76 mph. Will continue to improve with more coordination and control as he develops. Left-handed hitter, sets up from a wider and even base. Easy weight shift back and uses a quick trigger. Takes a longer path and mistimed a bit, but comes off well when he connects. Cleared the wall in his round. Will continue to gain feel for the barrel as he matures and already has the strength. Named to the 13U/14U Summer Main Event Top Prospect List.
