Mason Murphy is a 2029 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-4 138 lb. frame from Lagrange, NC who attends North Lenoir. Recorded an 8.17 second sixty yard dash time. Small frame with a lean build. Primary left-handed pitcher works from the third base side of the rubber with a simple delivery and a high leg raise. Medium effort in operation as the arm accelerates through from a three- quarter angle. The fastball (1666 RPM) was up to 69 and was mid-to-upper-60s throughout with some cut action. The low-60s curveball (1495 RPM) was his go to pitch early in the outing. Threw both pitches for strikes with some pitchability. Also flashed a low-60s change-up. Secondary outfielder that rounds the ball well with some quickness to the feet and fields out front. Presents the glove a bit late at times with developing arm strength. The left-handed hitter starts from a medium base with an in-line stance and a high hand start, utilizes a hanging, quick leg lift. Turns well in the core and controls the barrel with a pull-side to middle-of-the-field approach with a clean path to impact and square line drive contact. Repeats the swing well and added a double down the right field line during game action. Exciting player that was able to repeat and show consistency in the box and on the mound.
