Andrew Leister is a 2028 C/RHP/1B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Ravenel, SC who attends Pinewood Prep. Medium build with some present strength and more to come. 7.58 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up one knee down, has quiet hands receiving, some arm strength, deliberate actions in his transitions and foot work that can be sped up. Right handed hitter, sets up in a medium stance with a high leg raise trigger, rotational swing and tends to spin off with his front side, best when he's staying directional and working the middle of the field. Also pitched and graded out best as a pitcher at this event. Works exclusively from the stretch from the first base side of rubber, has a deep in line arm path and a high 3/4's arm slot, slow to fast mechanics down the mound. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with some sink and run. Slider showed some gradual break and depth at 70 mph, also threw a firm change up that he killed the spin on well. Excellent student.
