Colton Howard is a 2028 LHP/C/1B with a 5-5 160 lb. frame from High Point, NC who attends Ledford. Medium frame with sturdy build and advanced strength for his class. Primary position LHP, working from the full windup in the middle of the rubber and using small side step to abbreviated leg lift. Hands stationary at the belly working through a deeper inline arm path and a low 3/4 arm angle. Pitches on the edges of the plate with his low-60s FB that generated a lot of ground balls. Emerging off speed pitch with two-plane shape in the mid-50s. Secondary 1B, securing the ball and show familiarity around the bag. Glove work is on point and worked multi slots on throws nicely. LHH working from a neutral stance and toe tap trigger to get him going. Was on time regularly and worked the middle of the field with direct path to ball. Finding barrels in game action as well. With physical refinement and added twitch to his actions the ball will jump off his barrel. Very good student as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
