Alexander Townley is a 2025 LHP/1B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Columbia, SC who attends Dutch Fork. Medium frame with some dense musculature and athletic actions overall. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.65 seconds. Primary position LHP, using a side step to reach compact balance point over the rubber. Short compact arm path accelerating through a low-3/4 arm angle and working in a rotational manner to get to release point. FB in the upper-60s with significant arm side run and sinker type spin traits. Bigger CB in the upper-50s and mostly vertical shape. CH compliments there FB well and showed some real deception as hitters decelerated the bat head often. Reps in the OF and at 1B working through his plays methodically and making plays. Young actions here for the most part. Glove is accurate and midline transfer leading him to throws up to 71 mph back to bags. LHH starting inline and in his legs as he sits on his backside. Turns shoulders in pre-pitch to stay on the ball and use middle of the field approach. Longer path to the ball and naturally gets the ball in the air. Launch angle will play even more over time with added mass and twitch. Outstanding student.
