David McKechnie is a 2025 LHP/1B with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Kell. Bigger athletic build with some present strength and more to come. Works from the stretch with a belt high leg raise and a long arm takeaway in back, low slot release out front with some deception and angle. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, has been up to 82 mph in PG tournaments, has plenty of run and sink from his slot. Slider is a good pitch with some lateness to it and a feel for locating. Change up was a good third pitch with fading actions and limited spin. Has a history of being hard to barrel with his skills and deception and the chance of adding some raw stuff as he fills in and gets stronger. Excellent student.
