LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2003 World Showcase
Battle, Tim-tremendous athlete, 7+ runner, catlike instincts, legitimate pro base-stealing weapon, runs 2 bases as quick as any HS kid we’ve seen, plus tool in arm, CF w/plus RF arm, on the mound- touched 91 at PG World Showcase-same velocity from OF, shows outstanding hitting ability and possible power, hits line drives to all fields. Perhaps the only question mark is whether he will end up being a good Major League hitter. There’s every reason to believe that he will be able to make the necessary adjustments and for sure he’s going to get stronger. He has a wiry, athletic body, chuck full of fast twitch muscles. He seems to have the makeup of a champion. In Ft. Myers, Battle proved that he has to be seriously considered as a potential 1st round pick in June. He is truly one of the best baseball athletes we have seen in the past few years. Battle did not commit during the early signing period and to be honest, we don’t think he will be playing any baseball at the collegiate level.
