2022 Northeast Prospect Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Ben Miller is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Rehoboth, MA who attends Dighton-Rehoboth Rhs. Larger, square shouldered frame with long levers and plenty of room to physically mature. Recorded a 7.49 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with deliberate footwork into and through the fielding process. Uses long strides to range laterally well to either side and showed the ability to change slots when necessary. Recorded arm strength up to 78 mph across the diamond during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with lower, slightly coiled leg lift and shorter stride out to foot strike. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 81 mph from a compact, three-quarters arm slot. Mixed in 11-5 shaped curveball with some gradual depth as go-to- secondary option and showed best when thrown with conviction. Strike thrower that maintained his velocity from the stretch and has tons of projection moving forward. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, open stance with a tight hand set, low back elbow and hover trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half movements and some separation at launch. Whole field approach with slightly elongated swing path, developing feel for the barrel to the middle-of-the field. Will continue to improve with minor refinements mechanically and additional strength. Fundamentally sound prospect with intriguing upside on the mound and plenty of physical projection remaining.
