Luis Carlos Cruz is a 2027 C/1B with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from Oviedo, FL who attends Hagerty. Primary C who sets up with a bent-knee set-up out of the crouch. Is quick out of the crouch and stays low through it. Has a quick transfer and release with quick hands that work for receiving. Shorter arm action with online throws and good strength behind them. Recorded a 1.95 pop time and could get runners out. Also ran a 7.59 sixty. Right-handed hitter with a balanced base. Athletic in the box. Swings with good rhythm with a small stride into contact. Uses lower half well and rotates well at the top half of things from a clean simple stroke. Ball jumps when on plane and on time from a level swing. Showed a good contact approach. Good Student.
