2023 Central Prospect Showcase
Ridge Cathcart is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from O’fallon, MO who attends Westminster Christian Academy. Recorded a 7.05 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame with a lean and athletic build. Primary outfielder, with an aggressive approach and plays through the ball well with some arm strength. Low and accurate throws to the base. Also threw an inning on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from a belt-high leg kick with a medium length stride down the mound and a good backside push bringing the arm through with a longer arm action and getting it through from a three- quarter arm slot. Falls onto the first base side some but keeps the arm in line. Fastball (1834 RPM) only inning and showed life with cut action and occasional sinking action on the fastball. Working low in the strike zone and got weak contact on the ground. Left-handed hitter, starts from an even base and a slightly open stance. Holds angles well and gets the front foot down. Gets in sync with a compact swing and some bat speed. Pull-side pop and feel for the barrel. Pull-heavy approach and hit one out during the round. Exciting player with good upside. Good student.
