Nicholas Wilder is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Budd Lake, NJ who attends Mount Olive. Large, square shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran an 8.02 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher, full windup on the mound and remains under control with compact mechanics on the bump; long and clean arm action through the back working to an over-the-top release point. Tends to open front side early coming down the mound but also help create running life on fastball, topped out at 81 mph, pitched to contact and mixed a curveball with big 12-6 shape to it up to 67 mph, shows some present feel for spin and landing it in the zone. Left-handed hitter, begins with an even and balanced set up at the plate with a high hand set and back elbow; keeps hands tight in swing, gets rotational but incorporates strength well and shows present juice to pull side when squared up. Creates some bat speed through the zone, best when working on a linear path and getting the barrel out front. Very good student.
