2007 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Bart Steponovich is a 2008 C with a 5'10'', 175 lb. frame from Columbia MO, who attends Hickman HS. He has a small to medium frame with some present strength. Steponovich is a quiet receiver behind the plate who shows very soft and calm hands receiving the ball. He didn't have any trouble with different pitches and was especially good receiving the low pitches that he didn't have to drop on. Steponovich had a quick release and good arm strength. Offensively, Steponovich hits from a tall straight to closed stance with a short load and generally quiet approach. He keeps his swing short and on plane and hits line drives to all fields. Steponovich would probably benefit from a little more load and weight shift in his swing to help generate bat speed. He is a very good student.
