LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Diaz was a late addition to the Showcase rosters and we’re very glad he was there. He has a pro style body with current strength and plenty of projection in the future. The professional scouts probably noticed Diaz before the college coaches did. Diaz’s defensive skills ranked among the top two or three at the event among catchers. He has very quick feet, especially for his size, and was in front of every pitch. Diaz’s arm strength is very good and he was under 2.00 with just about every throw we got him on, with a low of 1.88. Offensively, Diaz has a balanced pro style set up with high hands and good flow through the ball. His swing is on the long side but he gets excellent extension out front and has the kind of bat speed that will still enable him to turn on balls with wood on the inside half. He consistently hit the ball hard. Diaz should be heavily scouted over the next year and a half. Good student. Top Follow!
