Matthew Passantino is a 2028 RHP/IF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Mount Sinai, NY who attends Mount Sinai. Recorded a 7.34 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame. Primary right-handed pitcher works from a hybrid windup with a small side-step into a chest-high leg kick and a moderate stride down the mound. Getting some push down the mound. Stationary hands through the turn before rising to the shoulder and dropping to the letters to separate into a longer arm action and accelerates through from a high three- quarter angle. The fastball (1847 RPM) was upper-70s and topped out at 80 with some arm-side run and worked the glove-side third of the plate to keep the ball off the barrel. The curveball (1702 RPM) was upper-60s with 11-5 shape and good downward action. Feel for the pitch and was able to work backwards with it and land it in the strike zone consistently. Also flashed a slider (1797 RPM) at 71 and a change-up at 74 with some arm-side fade. The fastball got chase up and out of the strike zone. Efficient on the mound and got quick outs with a solid tempo. Also worked out in the infield with first step quickness and solid actions with an accurate glove and a full arm path with carry. Right-handed hitter starts from a wider stance with a small negative toe tap into a stride. Level bat plane with inside hands from a direct hand path. Collected a hit during game action. Exciting player with a full mix on the mound.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
