Kaizen Valencia is a 2028 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Yakima, WA who attends Selah. Features a taller/physical build. Ran a 8.23 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed fundamental actions. A bit slower first step but eventually gets going with avg. quickness but choppier feet at reception. Fields it clean and uses a quicker gather post reception to get off throws fast. Uses a longer arm action that got off accurate throws wit above avg. strength for his level. At the plate, he sits in a relaxed wider stance with loose lower hanging hands. Small lean/sway into his backside before a smaller leg lift trigger. Works behind the baseball but never really gets off his backside. Hands throw a direct barrel, at times a bit steep to it but with noticeable quickness and quality bat speed for his level. A lot of GBs during his round due to path and timing inconsistencies but when on-time and out front he connected on a couple loud line drives to the pullside. On the mound, he worked exclusively from the stretch. Showed a slower tempo operation with a tall/fall type delivery. Landed tall and slightly open at finish, most of the time pulling off the target. Showed a shorter/clean AA out the back and to release out of a normal 3/4 slot. Showed below avg. command throughout his outing leaking his fastballs off the plate to the gloveside. Showed significantly better feel for his slurvy breaking ball that he was able to land for strikes and induce some buckled takes and whiffs.
