2024 Spring Midwest Workout Showcase
Carson Grier is a 2026 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-2 235 lb. frame from Williamsburg, IA, who attends Williamsburg. A bigger frame and build with physicality to it. Ran a 7.89 60-yard dash. Primary corner infielder who worked out at first base, fielding it up the middle with a two-hand smother. He has a longer release with accuracy across the diamond, with throws at 78 mph. He shuffled around the bag with good glovework, making the picks and fielding it out in front. Also worked out as an infielder who fields the ball up the middle well with good lateral range working through the ball. He had a shorter and compact release with a quicker release. He threw 76 mph across the diamond during his round of throws. A left-handed hitter with an even and spread base. He has higher-set hands with a lower back elbow, creating some lift through it. He attacked up in the air with some lift and loft in the swing. His best contact came working pull-side in the air. He turned hard, being able to rotate the upper half and do damage in the air. There was some strength off the barrel, using the physicality well when he was synced up. Good student.
