Ben Kreklau is a 2027 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Wadena, MN who attends Wadena-Deer Creek. Recorded a 8.13 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium frame and build. Primary catcher works from a square stance setup. Off-line footwork with developing arm strength. Some accuracy around the base. Also threw an inning on the mound. Worked from the stretch with a leg lift up around the belt, working down the mound with an on-line approach. Coils the leg lift and delivers from a high three- quarters arm slot. Shorter takeaway and hides it through the back. The fastball (1980 RPM) was 74-76 with running life when thrown to the arm-side. Showed a low 70s change-up (1534 RPM) with some depth to it and fade to the arm-side. Also showed a quality upper-60s curveball (2187 RPM) with 11-5 shape and slurvy depth to it, getting more horizontal at times. Mixed in the curveball well. Left-handed hitter starts from an even base and a straight line stance with high hands and an even back elbow, utilizes a toe tap for timing. Flat bat path with some solid line drives to the pull-side. Drops hands some then works them semi-directly to the ball. Intriguing player with good upside. Excellent student.
