Pitching
- Side steps into a mid-chest knee tuck. Smaller drop in driveleg with noticeable push off the rubber. Longer arm path out the glove that works up on time and to release at a normal 3/4 slot. Lands slightly closed and with a good block and gets over his front side. Worked fast and showed quality command. Natural tendency to gloveside with the FB and produced a couple quality depthy breakers for whiffs. More of an east-west plane of rotation so I would just monitor and be aware of when you spin off a tad at footplant which could hurt direction. Continue to build pace and quickness within your delivery.
Defense
- INF - Quality actions to build off. Footwork played a bit heavy in the approach but got set into good body positioning with glove getting down early and fielding it clean. Some slight stab to the glove to backhand side. Good funnel to belt that then used a glove tap before getting to release. Used a shorter AA that made accurate throws across with solid strength. Clean play on the slow roller. I would just work on the initial footowork and setting the backhand early.
- 1B - Clean round defensively overall. A bit slow into reception but fields everything clean/out front with quality spin move on DP. All throws were accurate with decent strength.
Hitting
- Balanced stance. Simple leg lift trigger that gets him engaged with backside. Doesn't really get moving forward that much and at times got stuck in backside. Hands showed strength/quickness in how they delivered the barrel. Turns/tilts behind the frontside with a barrel that works on a slight uphill path through the zone. Hands/barrel stay inside and connected through turn. Quality impact to the pullside and middle of the field.
- Sometimes when you get stuck on your backside you can end up dipping the back shoulder which can cause some accidental uphillness to the swing. I would focus on getting to a balanced 50/50 position at foot strike.
